LACEedit is the polygon editor that is tailored for deep sub-micron(DSM) and ultra deep sub-micron(UDSM) IC design and system-on-chip. It targets users who are creating multi-million gate designs. LACEedit overcomes the limitation of conventional editors by supporting the very best polygon entry and compaction capabilities in one environment. Mixing these capabilities in the LADEE design environment provides a unique level of design flexibility.

LACEedit supports IC designers who want to move from traditional, time consuming "polygon pushing" to higher productivity. It reduces the amount of time required to generate a layout by allowing designers to roughly place devices and let the layout compactor automatically correct design rules, size devices, and compact the layout to highest density.

In DSM and UDSM  technologies, grid values become extremely small compared to the feature sizes of the layout structure. This large difference between the drawing grid and drawn structure slows down the layout generation process. LACEedit gives the layout designer the freedom to choose a bigger grid value and let the compactor fix the grid automatically.

100% Data Security
LACEedit’s flexible auto-save mode ensures data security. Since that’s not enough for secure handling of huge design data, LACEedit also monitors and records every user action. In the case of a power failure or network error, all data can be recovered and automatically be reconstructed.

Unlimited Hierarchy Levels
LACEedit allows the designer to create hierarchical layout without any limitation. LACEedit handles unlimited number of hierarchy levels and unlimited number of layers, shapes and grids.

Multi-Window System
LACEedit's multi-window system allows users to open any number of designs and to exchange data between different databases. The number of windows and designs which can be opened in parallel is only limited by the operating system and hardware resources.
