LayAna
The Hierarchical Analysis tool for
Ultra Deep Sub-Micron
LayAna is an automatic hierarchical analysis
tool for mask layouts. The LADEE tool suite and LACE Layout Compaction
Engine convert structured designs hierarchically. However, most designs
are not accompanied by any explicit information about the structure of
the hierarchy, such as cell abutment and port information, as well as information
on over-the-cell-routing.
LayAna is the tool that automatically
extracts the cell abutment, ports, and over-the-cell routing information
from the existing layout database and stores that information in a topology
database. This database is used in conjunction with the LACE for hierarchical
conversion and compaction. Hierarchical compaction is done in parallel
mode, in which all abutting ports can be synchronized over the LAN.
After conversion and compaction, the layout
database will be reconstructed according to the layout hierarchy extracted
from the input database.
LayAna provides a unique hierarchical layout
compaction and optimization approach, offered by no other layout migration
tools suite.
Unique Features
LayAna is not limited to a specific number
of hierarchical levels. Instead, it can handle n levels of hierarchy.
It also supports overlapping cells and over-the-cell
routing, as well as shared layout structures among cells, such as contacts
at cell boundaries.
LayAna can analyze the hierarchy of standard
cell blocks, structured custom blocks, datapath, DSP, CPU, RAM, ROM and
macro blocks.
LAYANA is integrated into the LADEE tool suite
and works seamlessly with the other tools of the suite.
